My name is Ryan Fiereck. I am married to Kristen and am a proud father of three children, Sydney, Macie and Harvey. I grew up in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota and graduated from Osseo Senior High School in 2001.

After accepting a position as a Computer Technology Teacher in the Saint Francis School District, I returned to school at St. Mary's University and earned my Masters Degree in Teaching and Learning. St. Francis is a K-12 public school district in northern Anoka County. We are often share many of the struggles of rural districts while being classified as a metro.
St. Francis local is a wall to wall local. I'm proud to have represented both teachers, Educational Assistants, Nutrition Services, Bus Drivers, Office Professionals, and Early Childhood in my Union. All groups provide a unique perspective to our union that needs to be respected.
I have been a leader on the state level since being elected to the Governing Board in 2013. I have held the position of At-Large Representative of Zone 3 since 2017. In the years prior I was an election district representative from District A. During my time on the board I have had the honor of being elected three times to serve on the Executive Committee of Education Minnesota. During my time on and off the board, I have focused on creating avenues for leaders to flourish in a system that can often be very difficult to understand how and where to find their spot in the Union. This includes my role in creating NextGen EdMN in 2014 and serving as a Chair through 2017.
During my time in the St. Francis School District, I have been an active leader in Education Minnesota Local #1977. Like many leaders in Locals I have had to wear many hats at many different times. I have been a President and Vice-President of My Intermediate Organization(Metro Area Council), Vice-President of my Local, Negotiations Chair, Meet and Confer Chair, and Communications Chair. I have held positions of Local Vice-President and active member through the attendance of many Union sponsored events.
